My frames are all done.

All my frame are built. I've used a mixture of Ash, Spruce,Fur, Okume ply and thickened West System Epoxy for the glue up. I started using Ash from a tree that was felled near our house but milling it was taking to long. So I spent a day visiting timber suppliers and ended up at B&Q (a diy superstore in the UK). They had 75x25x2400 rough sawn timber for £7 a lenght. With a bit of sorting though the stack I found plenty with out knots, well some had one or two knots which I cut off when milling it to size(22x55). Before coating everthing in Epoxy I gave everything a wash with a dual Fungicide Insecticide. Yanus recomends this step and after watching 'Wilding Sailing' on Youtube, he's renervating an old Wharram which is a ply home build also. He has had mushrooms growing out of the inside of his hull and apparently the Mycellium can spread through the plywood.

You water this stuff down. I sprayed it on then spread it with a foam roller. After this I applyed 2 coats of epoxy on all surfaces apart from where the frames join the hull. I've all so made my stringers by scarfing 3 pieces of timber together. Scarf joints are 10:1, so 220mm long. I've also treated these to the bioside and then epoxy. So I'm ready to build the strong back for the next stage. So far I've used 1 kg of epoxy and it has taken me 3 1/2 months doing approx 3 to 4 hour days. I started loging the hours on 1st January and I have done 53 hours, so I'd say I'm at about 175 hours. As I said milling the Ash was taking ages which is why I changed my timber to soft wood. The oak in frame D1 I sourced localy and milled that my self.
